I have always delighted in nature. In retrospect, it might have been better had I gotten a biology degree rather than one in mechanical engineering. Photos through November 2003 were shot with Nikon N90s cameras, Nikon lenses and Fuji films. From the beginning of 2004 until May 2005, all shots used Nikon digital D100 cameras, Nikon and Sigma lenses. In June 2005 I began using the Nikon D2x cameras. Some land photos starting in August 2006 were taken using the Nikon D200. Late 2007, I obtained the Nikon D3 and D300 and a lot of new Nikon lenses, which I use exclusively today. A D3x was obtained in late 2008. A Nikon D300s was added to the camera case August, 2009. The camera bag was updated with the Nikon D4 and D800 in April, 2012. March, 2016 I changed to Nikon D5 and May, 2016 I was VERY happy to get the Nikon D500 for my long lens.
Underwater photos from 1995 to 1998 used Nikonos V cameras. Starting in September, 1998 all underwater photos were made by housing Nikon cameras in Nexus underwater housings. The D800 made its debut underwater starting in 2013. A variety of single and double strobes have been employed underwater. I currently use two Inon strobes.
I had an art show in November 2003 at the Quartermaster Building of Fort Concho in San Angelo, Texas (the former San Angelo Museum of Fine Art).
